TB Prevention Training

Newsletter No 17

Tuberculosis is a devastating disease if the appropriate precautions are not taken or if the correct treatment is not adhered to. OCDP has started training in the effective use of masks for frontline health professionals who are now dealing with this disease. Tuberculosis is an infection caused by bacteria. It is spread by breathing in the germs of an infected person who coughs or sneezes in your presence.

Expensive masks known as N95 are an effective way to help protect health workers from contracting TB. Knowing when and how to use these masks is an extremely important step in the prevention of cross infection in health care facilities.

OCDP would like to thank Shore School for its generous donation towards providing these masks.
