About Us

A group of Australian teachers, doctors and agronomists, including some who had lived in PNG prior to independence in 1975 established the Oro Community Development Project Inc (OCDP) after the widespread destruction caused by Cyclone Guba in November 2007.

OCDP relies on generous financial and in-kind donations from individuals, groups, businesses and a number of schools as well as the time and expertise provided at no cost by volunteers.

OCDP is a registered charity with Australia’s national charity regulator, the Australian and Not-for-Profit Commission (ACNC).  We have always followed best practice and seek to meet the highest standards of corporate governance, public accountability and financial management.
